Shaun Tucker Shaun Tucker has worked to increase the civic participation of Ohio's African-American and faith communities for the past decade. He has presented workshops at the West Ohio Conference of the United Methodist Church’s annual conference and has organized voting rights forums and workshops for the Cleveland Southern Christian Leadership Conference. Currently he organizes pastors to participate in lobbying visits to the Ohio Statehouse. He is a lobbyist and community organizer for nationally recognized organizations specializing in voting rights, election reform, civil rights and public education. He is a nationally-sought speaker and panelist and has been cited for his work on voting rights and election reform issues by CNN, Associated Press, USA Today, The New York Times as well as local Ohio news media. Early in his career he was an admissions counselor at Denison University and at the University of Toledo, traveling the state and Eastern U.S. interviewing potential students for admission. Tucker serves on Ohio Secretary of State Jennifer Brunner’s Voting Rights Institute Advisory Council and on the board of Progress Ohio. He is C.J. Prentiss Fellow and holds a B.A. degree from the University of Toledo, where he was a Cavalear Scholar,Thompson Scholar and Phi Eta Sigma honor inductee. |
