HOME
Melissa Giraud is a radio producer, media
consultant, youth organizer and immigrant rights advocate in
Columbus, Ohio. She was an NPR producer in Washington, D.C. for
six years. Along for the Ride, an experimental radio and
Web series, which she co-conceived and produced, is among the
major programs she worked on. The series aired on All Things
Considered in 2001-2002. The purpose of the program was to
recruit and coach a young, diverse group of experimental
reporters and bring their voices and stories to the national
broadcast airwaves. Her most recent radio series, OchoTEEN, was
funded by the Corporation for Public Broadcasting and aired on
NPR in English and on WRTE in Chicago in Spanish in 2005-2006.
She interviewed communities in Chicago and Durango, Mexico, in
English and Spanish in order to trace the historical and
contemporary links between them.
