Mary McGirl Mary McGirl’s career encompasses that of social worker, program development specialist, court visitor and consultant. She has extensive interviewing experience, especially with diverse populations. She has worked as a consultant for the Kirwan Institute, most recently assisting with interviews for projects in the Cleveland area. She was employed in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area by public, private, for profit, and not for profit organizations. In direct service work with mental health agencies and Probate court, she interviewed a diverse group of families and individuals. Some of those referred for service or assessment were voluntary clients, others were involuntary. As a Program Development Specialist, she worked with multiple agencies and providers in order to enhance and coordinate the provision of services such as housing, employment and medical services. A number of these providers were sponsored by, or affiliated with, religious organizations. These agencies served primarily impoverished individuals, families and communities, many of whom were people of color and immigrants. |
