Mary McGirl
HOME

Mary McGirl’s career encompasses that of social worker, program development specialist, court visitor and consultant.  She has extensive interviewing experience, especially with diverse populations.  She has worked as a consultant for the Kirwan Institute, most recently assisting with interviews for projects in the Cleveland area.

She was employed in the Minneapolis/St. Paul area by public, private, for profit, and not for profit organizations. In direct service work with mental health agencies and Probate court, she interviewed a diverse group of families and individuals. Some of those referred for service or assessment were voluntary clients, others were involuntary. As a Program Development Specialist, she worked with multiple agencies and providers in order to enhance and coordinate the provision of services such as housing, employment and medical services. A number of these providers were sponsored by, or affiliated with, religious organizations. These agencies served primarily impoverished individuals, families and communities, many of whom were people of color and immigrants.
