We are looking for two kinds of news.

The first kind of news we seek is the news releases that your organization sends to your local media.

We ask that you e-mail these articles to Don Burton, Director of Communication. Here is a simple way to get this done.

When you are done writing your news release highlight the entire document and copy it to your clip board.

Close the document.

Come to this page and click on Don Burton above.

Paste the document into the body of the email.

Click on send.

I will see that your news release is posted.

The second kind of news we seek is copies of the stories about your victories that have appeared in your local newspapers. It would be best if we could all learn to post these stories to our organization's web site. There is a built in page for news.

This process requires a scanner with both photo and OCR software installed on your computer.

Cut the entire article from the newspaper.

Cut the pictures from the article.

Click on the news paper setting on your scanner software.

Scan the pictures and store them in a directory you create for pictures in "my documents".

Scan the text of the news release. Spell check the text fill. When you are done save this is a directory in "my documents" called victory stories. Highlight the scanned text and copy it to your clip board. Close this document, your word processor and any other programs that may be running.

With your browser, load internet explorer and gamaliel.org.

Enter your web site.

Click on news.

Then click on the Front page icon. This will load this page in the front page editor.

Highlight the instruction text on the page and over type the headline.

Place the cursor where you would like the text to appear and then click on the clipboard icon or edit/paste.

Then place the cursor where you want the pictures to appear.

Then click on insert/picture/from file.
Browse to your picture directory in my documents (click on file folder with magnifying glass.) Use the up one level icon to take you to your picture. Click on the picture file and click on OK. Your picture should appear on your web page.

Do whatever formatting of the text is necessary.

Save your web page by clicking the disk icon or file/save.

Click on the internet explorer icon to seek how this page will look in the browser.

click on the x in the upper right hand corner to return to front page. Make changes if necessary or exit from page.

Email Don Burton that you have a file to link to the Gamaliel news site.
