Our Work

The Department of Labor and the Department of Housing and Urban Development are responsible for updating three important sets of workforce regulations that focus on getting low income people, people of color, women, and other disadvantaged people into good-paying jobs.  Gamaliel and a number of our strategic partners were very pleased when the two agencies announced that these regulations—which are significantly outdated—would be revised in 2013.  Unfortunately, insiders are reporting that the White House is blocking the process and delaying the revisions.

Our Response

It is critical that we raise our voices collectively and object to any further delay.  The people in our communities and our sluggish economy can no longer wait until it is politically safe for the White House to act.

Please sign the petition TODAY and share it with all of your friends. It is important that the White House hears a strong, loud and sustained call for the revision of these vital regulations. THANK YOU.

"On Saturday, August 17th, at 2PM, at Linwood and Prospect Ave., "the church" will come together with the community to lament the 1,000 homicides that have occurred in our beloved city over the past decade. It's time for us to take a stand, Arm in Arm, people of faith, law enforcement, elected officials, and area residents, with a single voice to say, 'We will no longer tolerate violent crime in Kansas City.' We need you to be there to take a stand."
