1. Transforming Your Existing Clergy/Religious Leaders Caucus Rev. Keith Olstad, ISAIAH and other ISAIAH and GRIP clergy and religious leaders Rev. Dennis Jacobsen, GNCC
Is your clergy and religious leaders caucus losing steam? Do you need to rebuild? Leaders from GRIP and ISAIAH leaders discuss transforming your caucus. Topics will include: The fundamentally renewing disciplines of one-on-ones; Propositions and turn out strategies; The role of a planning table in generating vision and sharpening theological agitation; and The crucial function of agitation tables in deepening relationships and generating a culture of accountability. Participants will be invited to offer agitation table workshops for their caucus leaders.

Participants will understand how to create Leadership Training and Development Tables in their organizations capable of: Creating and executing plans to send prospective leaders to National Training; Preparing and debriefing leaders for training; Developing training plans for your organization; and Establishing ongoing leadership development programs.
Key Questions to be explored: How do we activate leadership development programs which benefit our organizations and institutions at every level? Why must current leaders groom their replacements? How can training be used as a tool for multiple objectives, such as recruiting new members? How do we relieve the bottleneck of organizer-dependency?
3. A challenging and strategic workshop designed to focus you on building your base and your power by organizing fundraising events. Fundraising events strengthen relationships among leaders and core teams, lead you to new and potentially powerful relationships and can be a fun-filled experience. Come prepared to plan an event!
4. Building an Immigrant Base

A dynamic workshop on how an immigrant rights taskforce can expand your base of allies, money and member institutions. You will hear from leaders and organizers on how the issue of immigrant rights in Gamaliel organizations has resulted in new leaders taking leadership roles and recruited outside of the traditional member institutions to include unions, community organizations and non-Latino immigrants.
Dia Pearce of UNITE/HERE, one of the countries fastest growing unions will discuss why and how to best engage unions in your organization to expand your base
5. Constructing Local and State-wide Organizations
Organizers: Mr. David Liners, WISDOM
Many organizations have found that the decisions that have the greatest impact on their members are often made in the state capitol. Whether the issue is school funding, in-state tuition or enforceable smart-growth policies, we need to reach beyond our local base to build a coalition broad enough to have a voice on the state level. This workshop will feature a candid conversation regarding the benefits and challenges to building a state-wide organization Staff and leaders will share their successes, challenges, and "what we'd do differently if we had it to do over." Hopeful City staff and leaders will share their plan to grow and transform itself into a statewide organization.

Strong media coverage can multiply the impact of organized actions and public meetings, influencing both the public and power brokers and helping member congregations to see the good that your organization is doing in the public arena. How can you develop and sustain valuable relationships with the media? How do you frame your issues into messages that have convincing appeal and clear language? How do you identify and train leaders to be your organizations spokespersons to the media? The Rev. Jennifer Butler and Katie Barge of Faith in Public Life, a national resource center, will address these and other questions as they train participants in the arts of media and messaging.
7. Agitation Tables Leaders: Ms. Aneesa Parks, ISAIAH Organizer: Rev. Sue Engh, ISAIAH
Most people describe weeklong National Leadership Training as a transformative event. But in order to fully realize ones leadership vision from that experience, we need the investment of our organizing community back home. At Agitation Tables trained leaders practice the disciplines of organizing, invest deeply in one anothers growth, and co-mentor each other along their paths to power. At this workshop well review the basic steps in an agitation, provide a framework and tools for convening your Agitation Table, and inspire you with examples of how these tables have made a powerful difference. Pre-requisite: Weeklong National Leadership Training.
8. Partnership for Justice Leaders: Ms. Laurie Beckman-Yetzer and Ms. Myrna Nelson, ISAIAH and Mrs. Winnie Maisela, Rev. Alvin Sigamoney from CBCO-SA. Organizers: Rev. Terrance Jacob, South Africa TD
The Partnership for Justice workshop will be organized and run by leaders and organizing staff from Isaiah-MN and CBCO-SA. The Partnership for Justice exemplifies what it means to Come Now, to the Table of Justice. Learn who all the partners are in the Partnership for Justice. Identify how this initiative can be used to grow and/or benefit your organization and how you might use this initiative to build relationships with your US Congresspeople, Senators, Judicatory as well as among leaders and organizers throughout Gamaliel nationally and internationally. Explore the possibility of your organization becoming a partner in the Partnership for Justice.
9. Can You Hear Me Now? Communicating the Power of Organizing to Donors and Funders Leaders: Ms. Paula Simpson, ARISE Organizer: Mr. Andreas Kriefall, ARISE Experts: Ms. Marjorie Fine, CCC Mr. Gabe Gonzalez, CCC
Communicating the compelling story of organizing to donors and funders has been perplexing savvy organizers, development staff and executive directors for a long time. This interactive workshop will: Describe the major types of individual donors who are prospects for supporting community organizing; Report on findings from 150 one-on-ones with donors, funders and donor advisors;
Address race and class issues that might be barriers to organizers forging relationships with donors and funders Practice effective ways to describe community organizing to donors and funders
