What does the Lord
require of you
but to do justice
and to love kindness
and to walk humbly
with your God?”

Sojourners/GNCC Partnership—In June the GNCC Leadership Council voted to enter into a partnership with Sojourners and to endorse the Covenant for A New America (see www.sojo.net ).

GNCC clergy leaders were at the launching of the Covenant at a rally on Capitol Hill in Washington, D.C., at which Rev. Dennis Jacobsen, Director of the GNCC, was one of the speakers (along with Jim Wallis, Congressman John Lewis, et. al.). On October 2, AMOS and Sojourners held a joint public meeting and candidates forum in Cincinnati with 1,400 people present. On October 24, Jim Wallis addressed a successful clergy recruitment event for MICAH and SOPHIA in Milwaukee.

The GNCC Annual Meeting will be held on Friday morning of the Gamaliel National Leadership Assembly, December 8, in Minneapolis. Andy Stern, president of SEIU, will be our guest speaker on tensions and hopeful engagement between labor and our faith-based Gamaliel organizing. We will elect new GNCC officers and lay out the vision for the GNCC in 2007. Plan to be at the NLA and at our GNCC annual meeting.

For 15 years, the Gamaliel National Clergy Caucus has helped to shape the vision and reality of the Gamaliel Network by training, organizing, agitating, and inspiring clergy leaders of this network. Be one of over 200 clergy whose annual dues of $100 in 2007 will help us to continue this vital work.

Which state will demonstrate their organization’s commitment and power by bringing the most dues-paying members to the annual meeting at NLA?

Speak to your president and organizers about being part of your organization's delegation to NLA, December 7-9, 2006, in Minneapolis/St. Paul.
