Community Organizer

United Action Connecticut  (UACT), is seeking an experienced community organizer. UACT is a growing organization of congregations and other community-based institutions affiliated with the Gamaliel Foundation.

Candidates must have a deep desire to address social justice issues, and have some experience in working with diverse individuals and groups. Organizers recruit and develop a congregational base, identify and engage leaders and organize people and money to sustain the organization. A proven track record of success is required.

 

The organizer will work at a local, regional and state level on multiple issues including Education, Tax Equity, Civil Rights for Immigrants, and access to Health Care.

 

Qualities sought: experience with political processes; capacity to train and develop leaders; strong

communication skills; ability to work with diverse groups; financial, fundraising and organizational

management skills; ability to speak, train, translate and write Spanish is highly desired.

 

Desirable candidates should have experience in Community Organizing.

 

Salary and benefits are negotiable, based on demonstrated professional experience and
