BILINGUAL COMMUNITY ORGANIZER FOR FAITH BASED ORGANIZATION

ISAIAH, a faith-based, power organization, is seeking a bilingual (English and Spanish) organizer who is a strategic thinker, willing to take risks, self-motivated, with a deep desire to work for justice in our society and to build power in order to affect change.

The organizer is expected to:

1)      Build relationships in the public arena systematically and strategically.

2)      Discover and articulate self-interest in potential leaders.

3)      Cut issues, strategize and move groups of people into action.

4)      Work with pastors and key leaders to create yearly plans.

5)      Work with leaders to carry out their core team plans.

6)      Identify and develop potential leaders through agitation and participation in national training.

7)      Raise funds – organize money.

8)      Train, strategize and organize metro level power.

9)      Articulate the ISAIAH/Gamaliel process of organizing.

10)  Reflect in a disciplined way on his/her development as an organizer.

11)  Build strong relationship with supervisor and be willing to develop self through feedback/agitation from organizing staff and leaders.

12)  Act for racial justice.
