What is the Summit? · A statewide gathering of over 300 people ... congregational leaders, elected officials, and civic leaders ... convened by Atlantans Building Leadership for Empowerment (ABLE/Gamaliel). · A forum ... to discuss specific state and regional policy changes that would enhance the sustainability of our central city and older suburbs, and challenge the continuing segregation of opportunities that leaves most residents without equal access. Experts will help in presentations: Professor john a. powell (Ohio State University's Kirwan Institute), Manuel Pastor (Director, Center for Justice, Tolerance, and Community); Mr. David Rusk (Author and Urban Policy expert). · A convention ... to gain broad support for a platform of social equity and urban revitalization to bring to inform the Atlanta Region of systemic inequities that can be addressed through sound organizing principles.
