ADMINISTRATIVE ASSISTANT GAMALIEL FOUNDATION & ISAIAH OVERVIEW
The Administrative Assistant will split his/her work between the national Gamaliel Foundation and Gamaliel’s Minnesota affiliate ISAIAH, and work out of a shared office in Minneapolis.
Gamaliel Organizational Summary
The Gamaliel Foundation is a fast growing national faith based social justice organizing network of 60 affiliate organizations in twenty states. Focusing on racial and economic justice, Gamaliel works to build and mobilize a multi-racial constituency for progressive change in the United States, and to support organizers, clergy, grassroots leaders and working families in advocating for policies that will improve their lives. Gamaliel Position Summary
The Administrative Assistant will provide support for Gamaliel’s development operations based in Minnesota to help build financial support for social justice organizing throughout the country. Primary responsibilities are: establishing and maintaining systems for effective and efficient operations of the development office; managing the development database; scheduling and calendaring development office work.
Gamaliel Duties and Responsibilities
· Establish and maintain hard copy and electronic filing systems · Establish and maintain calendar and systems to track foundation deadlines, proposal submissions/status, grant awards, and reporting requirements to ensure timely submission · Research/gather foundation information (reports, guidelines) via telephone and internet · Update/ maintain development database and related files; enter data and generate reports · Maintain master calendar of in-house and external meetings · Maintain calendars for development staff and schedule meetings with funders and others · Coordinate travel and lodging accommodations for development staff, as requested · Assist in proposal submission including producing copies of proposals and attachments, making file copies, assembling and mailing proposals · General correspondence and processing/mail merging appeals and gift acknowledgments · Answer telephone and open mail; provide information and/or route to appropriate staff. · General clerical duties · Order office supplies and monitor inventory · Other duties as assigned.

Isaiah Position Summary
The ISAIAH Administrative Assistant will provide scheduling and administrative support for the Co-Director of ISAIAH.
Isaiah Duties and Responsibilities
· Develop and maintain organizational calendar: scheduling quarterly strategic leadership meetings, Board meetings, issue campaign planning meetings, other organizational wide events · Coordination of ISAIAH-wide leadership meetings: reserving meeting space, arranging food and refreshments, sending meeting notices, conducting phone call reminders, handling onsite set up and logistics · Assist with Scheduling for Co-Director: set appointments, schedule meetings with public officials, schedule issue campaign events with media and others participants, schedule targeted legislative district meetings, call organizational leaders to coordinate appointments and tasks · Establish and maintain a calendar and systems for tracking foundation deadlines, proposal submissions and status, grant awards, and reporting requirements to ensure timely submission
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
Required qualifications are five years of successful administrative experience with at least two of those years involving establishing and maintaining offices systems and scheduling. The successful candidate will have strong computer skills with a proficiency in Word and Excel, and proficiency in managing complex database systems. Experience using a development database, such as Raisers Edge, highly desirable. Excellent organizational, problem-solving and decision-making skills; strong written and telephone communications skills; detail oriented and time-management skills; ability to work on several projects simultaneously, balance priorities and meet deadlines. The candidate must have an ability to exercise discretion and maintain confidentiality, be self-directed, personable, and work effectively with diverse populations.

SALARY AND BENEFITS
Salary range $30,000 - $34,000 commensurate with experience; excellent benefits including health insurance and 403(b) plan.
